Commissions
Yishi accepts a small number of private commissions each year, allowing every work to be approached with the same care and attention as her personal studio practice.
A commission can begin with a person, a relationship, a memory, a particular atmosphere, or simply a feeling you would like the work to hold.
Each piece is developed individually through conversation, while remaining true to Yishi’s visual language and artistic approach.
The Process
Every commission begins with a conversation about the idea behind the work.
Yishi will then develop an initial sketch to establish the composition, atmosphere, colour direction and overall feeling of the piece.
Once the direction is agreed, the final work will be developed on the most suitable surface.
Throughout the process, the aim is not simply to reproduce an image, but to create a work that feels personal, meaningful and unmistakably part of Yishi’s practice.
Timeline
The usual completion time is approximately 2 to 8 months, depending on the size, complexity and current studio schedule.
If the work is intended for a particular date or occasion, please mention this in your enquiry and we will confirm whether the timeline is possible.
Pricing
Each commission is considered individually, with pricing determined by the size, surface and complexity of the work.
Commission pricing is aligned with Yishi’s current studio and gallery pricing and will always be agreed before the work begins.
If you have a particular size or budget in mind, you are welcome to include it in your enquiry.
Shipping, insurance, customs duties and import taxes are quoted separately where applicable.

If you already have some ideas, it is helpful to include:
• your preferred size, if known
• your location or country
• your desired timeline
• any artwork by Yishi that you particularly connect with
• any thoughts around mood, colour, subject matter, or the story behind the commission
Yishi can also advise on the most suitable size and surface once the idea has been discussed.
